Bypass Protein and Microbial Efficiency
Ruminant nutrition is unique because we are feeding the rumen microbes first, and the cow second. The microbes require a steady supply of ammonia (from rumen-degradable protein) and energy (from fermentable carbohydrates) to multiply. When these microbes wash out of the rumen, they provide the cow with a massive source of high-quality "microbial protein." However, high-producing dairy cows and rapidly growing feedlot steers require more protein than the microbes alone can provide. That is where our specialized formulations come in. We utilize specific ingredients like treated soybean meal and blood meal that "bypass" rumen fermentation and are absorbed directly in the small intestine, providing the exact amino acids needed for peak performance.
